Low End Theory January 2007 podcast

This months Low End Theory Podcast we are going to rely heavily on the Switchchance and Tru Thoughts/Ubiquity labels

First up this month we have a couple tracks from the Switchstance label. Kicking it off it Subrock Mission with Grooving South. Protassov follows their label mates with a nice organ groove in Butterfly Dub. Next up it's Tommy Guerrero(Thanks Zach - yes that is a Jamba Juice!) and his low-fi head nodder Organism off James Lavelle's Mo Wax label. Radio Citizen and Bajka's Everything is just a nice easy track, nuff said. Living on the Edge is not Bon Jovi but Stephane Pompougnac and I'm not what the man in the song is saying but I think is trying get some point across, maybe its that you should listen to more Pompougnac. Ben Lambdin's alter ego Nostalgia 77 channels some funk gods with his track Freedom. I swear that's Fred Wesley on the trombone. Next up it's Decembers artist of the month Red Astaire aka Freddie Cruger with Come Down. Ancient Astronauts tell us a tale of Mexican Loneliness. Paul Murphy pays homage to Eddie Piller in his track Acid Jazz Ed he coined the phrase Acid Jazz. The Avalanches hit us with their manic Frontier Psychiatrist. The video for this track may be one of the best ever. I'd like to take this time to talk directly to Robbie and Darren of the Avalanches. Robbie, Darren look we love this album and quite frankly we are very disappointed. You see, your site lists that you have released 6 albums. That would be an impressive number for any DJ outfit. BUT. it's the same damn album released in different countries. PLEASE GIVE US SOMETHING NEW. Ah hem. Ok where were we? Oh right Quantic AKA Will Holland is next up with Life in the Rain of his debut the 5th Exotic. Ben Lambin of Nostalgia 77 and Nathaniel Pearn of Natural Self fame got together bring us one 2006s funkiest albums 'Gravity' under the name Broken Keys. Aptly titled because this thing is heavy. Rounding out the mix once again it Freddie Cruger off his Freddie Cruger presents The 3 Foot People - 3 Foot High & Rising album. Now send the kids to basement with their toys, make yourself a White Russian, download this mix and finish making the damn Turkey, I'm hungry
